The Spanish I and II courses offered under the guidance of Instructor Summer Reel have been high quality foreign language learning experiences for our students at Valley High School. Our students’ progress is closely monitored and many opportunities for feedback and appropriate help is always available. Summer’s preparation of lessons, sincere care for the students and willingness to see that all have a great learning experience is the best we have seen in distance or on-line learning. I would certainly recommend Mrs. Reel and her courses to anyone interested in a quality learning experience for their students.

This semester in Spanish is a lot better than last year's Spanish class. Last year our class learned Spanish over the TV with five or six other schools. It was difficult for me to pay attention to the teacher, or even want to learn. With Rosetta Stone, I feel like I'm learning a lot more, and a lot faster.

The online resources that we have available this year are wonderful. It's so nice to not have to go to my locker for books for this class. I can just come in, log on, and get to it. Moodle is a great and effective tool that I really appreciate this year. With the added assignments in Moodle this year, I feel that I am learning way more about the culture, rather than just seeing words on a screen. It may be more work to learn about it that way but it's much more in depth and more enjoyable for me personally.

Rosetta Stone has helped me understand so much more about Spanish than the program I was in last year. I think Rosetta Stone throws you into the lesson and provides you with the information you need as you go through the lessons without them explaining everything to you. Therefore, you have to think and put things together. It makes you work and you end up understanding what is put in front of you. I like that we have actual pictures of real life situations that gives us perfect examples of what we are reading or listening about. I like the fact that we can communicate with other students in the same class and being able to connect to my teacher if I ever need to.

The way we learn our Spanish through Rosetta Stone and Moodle is a very effective and an easy way to learn Spanish. I learned a lot and it was very stress free. I would prefer to learn Spanish this way till I'm out of high school.

I think I've learned a lot. I know a lot more than I did when the year first started. I love spanish now. I liked all of the things we had to read and write about. They were always something interesting! I wish I could do it another year.
